this is not a comic strip, it's a lichteinstein
[communicate with the artist]
This was a biographical project, one was to "communicate with the artist" of choice anyway he/she saw fit. I chose Roy Lichtenstein.
This 4 x 8 feet (huge) painting not only references his 1963 painting In the Car, but his very unique painting style, technique and extreme size. My solution to communicating with the artist was to experience this technique, but more importantly doing so while placing myself in the scene along side the driver. Note that all Lichtenstein's women look very similar, so specific physical features unique to myself and my look at the time were emphasized. Aspects such as my very unusual hair style of the time, my favourite pink jacket, eye colour and lip shape. The accompanying text references some of Lichtenstein's later works in the 1965 series Brush Strokes.
